“You’re an Asshole” is an upbeat anthem for anyone feeling the sting of a past relationship. The song cycles through the anger, vulnerability, insecurity, hopelessness and eventual acceptance that come with a breakup.” – Artikal Sound System
The track begins with a slow, acoustic vibe accompanied by Rex’s melodic vocals singing ”you’re an asshole, I mean it in the nicest way possible, I know you think it’s cute but you’re impossible…you send my heart and soul to the hospital,” picking up to an upbeat reggae groove for the chorus – talking about heartbreak, strength and taking the power back with a playful tone.

Founded by Chris Montague [guitar] and Fabian Acuña [bass] in 2012, the band honed their chops backing a series of Caribbean singers. Along the way the boys picked up Christopher Cope [keys player] and Adam Kampf [drummer] before finally trying something a little sonically different with their neighbor, Logan Rex [vocalist].
