LOS ANGELES, CA (March 21, 2025) – SoCal musician, songwriter and producer DENM returns with his sophomore studio album ‘Hot N Glassy’ out today via Controlled Substance Sound Labs / Slum Beach Records. The album’s 13-tracks call out to the ambiguity of it all – good times and hard times, beach days and broken homes, catching waves and fades.
DENM shares, “To me, a hot n glassy day with perfect peeling waves off a point on some distant coast sounds like heaven. So I was going after writing songs that could transport you to that hot n glassy kinda moment, while also trying to balance it with the honesty of life.”
“Some songs are about my struggles with addiction from a young age, and then about trying to grow up into a better man and father than I was shown – the hot and the glassy, the fire and the water. This album feels true to my roots, and the process of writing and producing these songs has helped me let go of the past and look to the future.”
Standout tracks include the album’s latest single “Be Mine”, which plays on a Bobby McFerrin riff to capture the hazy optimism of an imperfect man just trying to stay real.
A coveted producer that’s collaborated on Grammy-winning albums and hit singles with artists like SOJA, Travis Barker and Big Freedia, it’s no wonder DENM’s new studio release features a bounty of special guests. Vibe-ridden singles “I’ll Be Gone” featuring Slightly Stoopid and “Where I’m Goin” featuring Pepper caught the ear of top Apple and Spotify playlists when they released in 2024. Other guests include B-Real on the hip-hop laden “Califas 2”, Benny Ranks on “Cool Down” and Jesse James Pariah on “Wandering Soul.”
The album concludes with the powerful, emotional track “Swimming Lessons,” will give you goosebumps with its gospel-like crescendo and arguably DENM’s most powerful vocal performance to date.
DENM is currently headlining a spring 2025 tour in support of the new music, and will perform at Red Rocks on April 18 supporting Sublime. Festival plays are also slated for Reggae Rise Ups in Arizona April 4 and Oregon Aug. 29, along with his return to Cali Vibes Fest in Long Beach, CA on June 7.
