Los Angeles, CA – September 12, 2024 – As he prepares to release his third full-length studio album, Lifeline, later this month, rising reggae rock singer, songwriter, producer and guitarist Joe Samba has issued one final tease with his new single “Communicate.” The islandy new song epitomizes relationships with your friends as you grow older and the struggle to see each other because of adult life. PRESS HERE to listen to “Communicate,” co-produced by Samba and Anthony Resta (Duran Duran, Collective Soul). Lifeline, out September 27th via LAW Records, also includes the singles “Little Love,” “Meant To Be” with Wax, and “Home” with Mihali. PRESS HERE to pre-save Lifeline on DSPs.

“This song is one for everybody, encouraging people to find healthier ways to communicate,” shares Samba. “I think all of us are on the same page, but struggle reading each other’s paragraphs. I try to make sense of it all in this song.”

Joe Samba has a song for every season. You could drift off into the smoky summer groove of his reggae-infused bangers or jump into spring fueled by the punk rock gallop of his guitar-driven anthems. He’s got the kind of melodies that could warm you back to life in the winter and the chantable hooks you want to celebrate with on a year-end victory lap in the fall. He threads everything together with unfiltered emotion and honest lyrics about life as a father, husband, son, friend, and artist. All of these vibes and more are on full display on Lifeline, which tells the story of various life changes including becoming a dad, moving, touring life and being away from family, friendships, and more. For Lifeline, Samba worked with outside producers for the first time, recording four tunes with Eric Krasno of Soulive (including “Meant To Be” and “Home”) and three with Anthony Resta (Duran Duran, Collective Soul), who also co-produced “Little Love.” The final tracks of the 10-song collection were self-produced by Joe in Maine at the Halo Studio with engineer Kevin Billingslea.

Samba is currently on a West Coast tour with Kyle Smith that kicked off last night in Berkeley, California and continues through this Sunday, September 15th. Then, Joe and his bandmates will travel throughout the Northeast in October for a run of dates supporting Little Stranger, which includes a stop at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl on October 10th as well as in Buffalo, Philadelphia, Boston, and Burlington. See below for full list of upcoming tour dates and visit www.joesamba.com for more information and to purchase tickets.

Following a childhood immersed in music, Joe Samba paid his dues by endlessly gigging around the Northeast. The Massachusetts-born and now New Hampshire-based multi-talent formally introduced himself as an artist via The Wrong Impression in 2019. His independent debut topped the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart, debuting at #1 and gathering millions of streams. He leveled up on his 2022 sophomore album Far From Forever (LAW Records), with the album’s singles “Create Something,” “Boomer Economy” and “Beef” also amassing millions of streams. Along the way, Samba has toured or played alongside everyone from The Dirty Heads, Ziggy Marley and Pepper to Shwayze and Sublime With Rome, performed at such festivals as Summer Camp Music Festival, Cali Vibes, Reggae Rise Up, and Cali Roots Festival, and earned media acclaim for his energetic live show, with The Pier praising, “There’s something unique about Joe.”

Critical Praise for Joe Samba

“‘Meant To Be’ showcases Samba’s wide vocal range as the [genre-defying] artist dips into rapid-fire hip-hop as quickly as he slides into more melodic flows. The single showcases unique chemistry and sets Samba’s refreshing perspective to soothing yet electrifying drum patterns.” – Glide Magazine

“A purveyor of positive vibes, joyfully merging his optimistic energy with unifying messages delivered via catchy choruses and infectious grooves. His eclectic brand of upbeat reggae rocks with an undeniable soul/funk infused pop-appeal, while leveling his dynamic vocal range and guitar chops against an honest and, at times, raw lyricism.” – Live For Live Music
