REGGAE’S ARTIST OF A NEW GENERATION

SAMORY I GRACES SEPTEMBER 2023 COVER

OF BOTH RIDDIM MAGAZINE & ECHOES MAGAZINE

Ahead of His Anticipated Album Strength Now Slated for Nov 17, 2023 (Overstand Entertainment / Easy Star)

“Samory I is one of the most important artists of this present era. He’s a Jamaican roots man who holds fast to the Rastafari faith and makes records which are rarely less than essential.” Echoes Magazine (UK)

Samory I plants his feet firmly, grounded and confident, in a new era of roots reggae music where boundaries are limitless. His lyrical consciousness and distinct emotive vocals are resonating with fans across the globe. This month the Jamaican native is gracing the cover of two European magazines – UK’s essential black monthly Echoes and Germany’s highly touted reggae publication RIDDIM alongside fellow Jamaican artist Mortimer.

These accolades come before the release of Samory I’s anticipated solo debut album Strength, to be released this Fall 2023 via Overstand Entertainment and Easy Star Records. It follows his collaborative album Black Gold (2017) with Jamaican producer Rory “Stonelove” Gilligan, which helped make Samory a household name in reggae with his breakthrough standout “Rasta Nuh Gangsta” reaching over 10 million views on YouTube alone.

Over the past year, Samory I has teased us with singles “Blood In The Streets,” “Crown and Wrath” featuring 2023 Grammy award-winner Kabaka Pyramid and dancehall legend Capleton from his forthcoming LP, produced solely by Winta James (Protoje, Chronixx, Damian Marley).
