Question:

5. What inspired the latest album Fruitful Darkness?

Answer:

Inspired by a few different things but its mainly its very much influenced and inspired by astrology. I really got into the study of astrology for this record. I was going through something in astrology which they reference as the Saturn Return. It is a period in one’s life when Saturn returns to the exact position of when you were born it usually lasts two or three years and it happens when you are twenty eight or thirty. Can be a period of learning a lot of growth and steps an internal journey. This album inspired by my own Saturn Return and my own journey and learning about myself and facing the undefined the darkness to me represents the undefined space within one selves. Space a lot of us turn away from because it can be scary or hard to understand, but I feel as If we turn toward the place within ourselves the greatest lessons greatest fruits come from that space so really heavily inspired by that period in my life by my Saturn return lessons and journeys that I had during that time.

Question:

6.What made you reach to the stars?

Answer:

I had a friend of mine that gifted me a session with a famous astrologer. I didn’t know really what to make of it, I had a discussion with her and was really just kinda blown open and really surprised how well she could read me just from looking at my stars and that got me interested in how the stars relate to us human beings and our personality and behavior how we can use the stars as a guide to understand ourselves and our journey and the things we have to do and the path that we have to walk really from the influence of my friend gifting me that session.

Question:

7. How does it feel to finally be on tour after the planning stage of the concept “Fruiful Darkness”?

Answer:

Being a musician plan our lives so far in advance and we have to plan our schedule so far in advance that this is a tour that we want to hit as many spots as we could raise the message of the Fruitful Darkness to as many people as possible, As a musician you see it on your calendar for so long and there is so much work that surrounds the planning, art, rehearsing when the days do finally comeit is so exciting because no matter how much you can plan as much as you want and kinda have a rough blueprint but it the tour and the people and the music really take its own take its own shape once we are out there and doing it, We are so happy that this tour is here and the opportunity to share the message of the Fruitful Darkness.

Question:

8. Tell us about you collaboration with Mike Love, Paula Fuga and Nahko “Love will find your way” song?

Answer:

It was written by Mike Love. It is an honor to be with a group of musicians, a family, and a tribe, all using our own tools and ways and styles bringing a message of love. Mike hasalways been a shining star for me a big inspiration. He is such a talented musician and dear friend of mine. He reached out and sent this song and said “I am doing this song for my album. I would love to have you on it I am going to have Paulo and Nahko on it.” It is amazing to have the opportunity to collaborate with him as well as Paula and Nahko When Mike I get the chance to collaborate with friends or other musicians it is such a treat. Mike sent the song to all of us and we recorded our respected parts. Just amazing for Mike to bring us all together on that song. It is an honor to work with him, always an honor to work with Mike, friends and happy we were able to do that one together.

Question:

9. What artists have inspired you?

Answer:

I am inspired by Bob Marley. His music was a vehicle to give a message. His songs musically and the first time I felt something, a spiritual force or energy or power that attracted it to me and I knew what I wanted to do in some capacity. Growing up on Bob Marley and reggae music was huge for me. I got into Ben Harper as a young kid and having someone translate a message using music as a positive powerful force was super inspiring for me. Those have always been my roots of inspiration, As far as today, I am inspired by the music that I listen to that I listen to with my friends John Butler, Nahko, Mike Love, all these people inspire me to go deeper into my own craft and push the limits to go further. It is an honor to be in the tribe.

Question:

10. Is there one message that you would like to share with the fans?

Answer:

I don’t try to convey a certain message because for me I want to let the music come thru me and me not be involved and my ego not be involved. Let it come thru me and whatever message people want take from the music I want them to have that for themselves, but if I could name it, I guess my hope would be for people to look further inside of themselves to question the undefined space within ourselves because as people focus outwardly I hope my music inspires an inward direction and wherever the direction takes them inside to inspire I hope to inspire people that’s the message I hope to convey.

Question:

11. What words of inspiration would you give to new artists?

Answer:

When I meet a new artist that asks me about advice or inspiration of this type of thing I always say, and it’s kinda
cliché, to listen to your heart, and allow the journey to take you were it wants to take you. Don’t have any steps or preconceived notions of how things are gonna go, because if you let the music guide you and stay true to the music, stay true to the art, and the passion behind it. Then everything else will fall into place and just create, create, create. Do whatever you can to be in your creation and try not to be attracted to the result of that creation. Let the creation go where it wants to go and be what is wants to be. If you are able to do that the more you are able to do that I feel the observer is tuned in. It is all about letting the current river flow thru you and removing any obstacles that are in your way for that to happen.

Question:

12. Best memories of Arizona Roots?

Answer:

Playing in such an incredible scenery. As a musician a lot of time is spent inside at different venues, clubs, and theaters, it is a rare opportunity to play out in the earth outside under the sun and stars. That was my favorite part it was such an amazing location.

Question:

13. Where did the passion for India come from?

Answer:

I don’t know. I am from South Carolina and never expected to go or know anything about India. That’s the thing when I first went there It was an energy if felt an energy and a current that I felt like I was able to be in my flow state and it just a powerful, powerful, powerful, place very rich in spiritual traditions. India and its culture has provided the gifts, tools and the foundation within myself to take my inward journey and that is why I love it so much.

IF you love something you naturally want to support it and take care of it and do what you can to be of service to that thing whatever it is; art, music, person, place. My heart I don’t know why, but India has been a huge monumental foundation for me. I love the land and the people, the country cause my heart is there. I want to do what I can to support that place and that culture. I have been lucky to have that opportunity because a lot people do want to serve people want to be of service in some way. It is sometimes hard to find that one thing and even if you find that one thing it can be difficult to figure out how to do be of service. So when an opportunity arises for you to be of service it is really a great blessing and you are very in debited to that thing to allow you to be of service. It is a great blessing. With India my heart is there and my heart is with the land and the good people. Good fortune to do what I can play my part in some small way.
