Tiken Jah Fakoly

Tiken Jah Fakoly is one of Africa's most prominent reggae artists, known for his powerful political messages and his ability to blend Jamaican reggae with West African musical traditions. Born Doumbia Moussa Fakoly on June 21, 1968, in Odienné, Côte d'Ivoire, he adopted the name Tiken Jah Fakoly as a tribute to his Rastafari faith.

His music is deeply rooted in the struggles of the African continent — addressing colonialism, political corruption, poverty, and the need for African unity. Singing primarily in French and Dioula, he has built a massive following across Francophone Africa and Europe, becoming a voice for the voiceless.

Tiken Jah Fakoly has collaborated with some of the biggest names in world music and reggae, and his albums consistently chart across Africa and France. He currently lives in Bamako, Mali, having been forced to leave Côte d'Ivoire due to political tensions sparked by his outspoken lyrics.
