[Brooklyn, NY – August 27, 2025] – Global dancehall icon Vybz Kartel is set to make his return to New York City this Friday August 29, 2025 with a monumental live performance at Brooklyn’sBarclays Center via Reggae Fest — a historic night that lands during the peak of NYC’s West Indian Day Parade celebrations, the city’s most vibrant annual showcase of Caribbean culture.
Amid his record-breaking global Worl’ Boss 2025 Tour — following his two sold out shows at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in April and fresh from his UK festival debut at Wireless in July — Kartel’s NYC appearance is set to be one of the highlights of the summer. Since regaining his freedom last year, following the overturning of his prison sentence after serving 13 years, Kartel’s momentum has been unstoppable: a GRAMMY nomination for Best Reggae Album, the MOBO Impact Award, viral collaborations, and the release of his chart-dominating album Viking (Vybz Is King): 10th Anniversary.
“New York has always been a second home to me,” says Kartel. “To return to Brooklyn for Labor Day weekend ahead of the West Indian Day parade will be a celebration of culture, resilience, and the fans who never gave up on me.”
